Hyundai i20 2020 Review

 Hyundai India launched first generation i20 way back in 2008 and all generations of i20 are big hit in the Indian market,but Hyundai India has gone a step ahead by launching third generation of i20,lets get to know,what makes the i20 a Game changer in segment.

Front profile of i20 might resemble the looks of Verna,but in reality i20 looks bit different from Verna,what makes i20 attractive is sporty design and Eye catching design elements like gloss black parametric jewel pattern grille,Led projector headlamps with DRL and bold characters lines on bonet,overall has excellent road presence and sporty look.

Side profile of i20 has a major change,when compared to its previous generation,now it is more longer and cosmetic touches like chrome door handles,chrome beltline from lower part of windows to quarter glass,puddle lamps below ORVM,R16 diamond cut alloy wheels makes it look elegant on roads.

Rear profile is bit unique,when compared to rivals.for instance Z shaped Led tail lights with chrome makes it look sporty and eye catching on roads,rear tail light unit gets First in segment safety feature known as Emergency-stop signal,which helps in avoiding rear collision during sudden braking by continuously flashing rear turn indicator lights.

The dashboard of i20 is designed well,for instance textured material on top dash and integrated ac vents,D-cut steering wheel with media control and cruise control,all digital driver information cluster and moving to Convenience features provided in i20 include automatic climate control with eco-coating,tilt and telescopic steering wheel,cruise control,cooled glovebox,blue ambient lighting,10inch infotainment system with Andriod auto,Apple car play,7speaker bose system and bluelink connectivity with over the air map updates,leather wrapped gear knob and in order to maintain clean air in cabin,Hyundai has provided First in segment Oxyboost air purifier.
 

Forget traditional speedo dials and meet the digital cluster with multi information display.The digital cluster is well designed and looks sporty,multi information display(MID) at the centre shows navigation information and displays tyre pressure monitoring system(TPMS).


In order to provide a best in class music experience in i20,Hyundai has equipped 7 speaker Bose system,which provides a premium  music experience in cabin and Bose music systems are known for their excellent audio output,overall enchances the pleasure of driving.


Forget the usb cables,just step in and place your wireless compatibility smartphones on wireless charging pad,unlike other wireless charger which are small in size and get heated while charging the smartphone.In i20 wireless charger is big in size to hold a larger smartphone and gets cooling pad to avoid heating while charging a smartphone.
 


Rear seats have good recline angle and under thigh support,which makes them comfortable for long journey and convience features for rear passenger include rear ac vents,usb port with smartphone holder,storage space on doors and centre armrest are provided in order to enhance the rear seat experience.Rear ac vents are helpful for quick cooling in hot summer.

HOW IS IT LIKE TO DRIVE 

The i20 which i got to drive is 1.5 diesel engine,which produces 100HP and 240NM of torque.Clutch is light,comfortable to use for city driving and on highway if you need more power,press the gas pedal and power starts to come in around 1800RPM to 3000RPM,so this engine is punchy,refined and suitable for both city,highway driving.The suspension setup of i20 is on stiffer side,which in turn   works best on bad roads to keep passengers comfortable and provides better handling on roads.

Hyundai Venue Long-term Review Hyundai India launched its first connected compact SUV Venue back in 2019, lets check out this SUV in long term. Exterior design Unlike other Hyundai cars,venue carries out new generation design.
